whoops, thanks for letting me know about this.
I put a new file in the ftp area, imake-files.tar, which has the Imake
config stuff from the Athena source tree (which should have the
definitions necessary to make reasonable Makefiles from the Imakefiles
in ss/ and com_err/):
% tar tvf imake-files.tar
rw-r--r--14640/248 6891 Mar 5 06:15 1991 Imake.rules
rw-rw-r--14640/248 3322 Mar 18 18:21 1991 Imake.tmpl
rw-rw-r--14640/248 762 Mar 16 11:33 1991 site.def
