Most people don't seem to have such problems under Solaris. Check if
you're using /usr/ucb/cc; if so, stop immediately and use a real
compiler :-) Although we do most of our builds with gcc (of course) it
should build with the SunSoft commercial cc (in /opt somewhere), as
long as you don't have the broken one in your path.
Also note that the only place in the entire tree that vsprintf exists
is in the rdist build -- by which point most everything else should
have compiled. Something is clearly wrong (on your end) since if you
configured things properly, it wouldn't have even *tried* to build
vsprintf since Solaris supplies it...
