I have a problem. I have a DEC Alpha running OSF/1 V3.2 and a DEC
terminal server (DECServer 900TM) which the documentation says can
use Kerberos ver. 4.0 to do user authentication.

Try #1:
I have tried to build Kerberos v4.0 from MIT on the DEC box
using the installation instructions.

Result #1
This version has no specific switches for OSF/1. And it doesn't
build correctly. (I get an Imake error)

Try #2:
I have tried to build Kerberos v5.0 with version 4.0 compatibility

Result #2
I get a file not found when it tries to find libkrb.a which
is supposedly in the version 4.0 libraries. I assume that since this
file was not in the orginal v4.0 download files, that it gets created
when you build Kerberos v4.0

Try #3
I tried to build the Kerberos v5.0 system without the v4.0
compatibility.

Result #3
This works, but it doesn't help me because the server is not
compatible with version 5.0

Does anyone have any suggestions, or better yet, solutions to my
problem. I appreciate any assistance.

Alan Ramsey
