Hello!
I am currently in the process of writing a kerberized IMAP 'biff'
program, and have run into a few problems with authentication that I
can't seem to find answers to.
What portion of the kerberos ticket is the 'ticket granting
ticket'? I've converted the binary ticket to it's hex form and am able
to send the whole thing, however it seems to be too long. In fact,
that's the error I get from IMAP. As far as I can tell there is only a
small portion of the ticket that I need to use to obtain a ticket for the
IMAP server, that would be the 'ticket granting ticket' right? Also,
do I have to use the authentication server in order to obtain the tickets
for the system I want to use, or can I do it directly on the IMAP server?
Incidentally, I've been sort of avoiding the c-client, in an
attempt to broaden my knowledge of how kerberos works etc.. I know it's
probably a bit anal but....
If you feel that this post is inappropriate to this newgroup,
feel free to flame me....but if you do let me know where it would be more
appropriate :)
Thanks!
