Authentication work in the IETF is currently taking place in the "Common
Authentication Technology (CAT)" working group. You can find information
about IETF working groups on the Web through the IETF homepage:

 http://ietf.cnri.reston.va.us/

Follow the links to "Working Groups" and then "Security Area." Should be
pretty obvious.
