Something I forgot to mention in my last message....

This isn't just a matter of editing a few lines in an aliases file.  The
aliases file is generated automatically each night from Moira.  The code that
generates the file would have to be modified to create a two lists for each
mailing list as suggested by Paul Pomes.

Of course, that has problems of its own -- it immediately doubles the number
of mailing list aliases in the aliases file, and furthermore, it requires
several two extra processes to be forked each time a message is received for a
mailing list.  The MIT mailhubs are already slow enough; how much slower do
you think they'll be if each incoming mailing-list message requires two more
processes?
