I thought I put that in the CNS (again, this is version FOUR only that
you're talking about, there *is* no CNS version FIVE publically
available!) readme, or for that matter, I *fixed* it in cns-95q1.

In any case, config/src/mt-linux contains:
#LEXLIB=
If you don't have a libl.a (goes with lex -- if you've mistakenly
renamed flex to lex, then you should have renamed libfl.a to libl.a to
compensate) then you could change it to
LEXLIB=
and have the right thing happen. (After you rerun configure, of course.)
