As a semi-aside, I'm attempting to make a generic CNS distribution work.
This is v4 only, and should be well-charted territory.
Everything EXCEPT rsh/rlogin is ducky. I can get tickets, make srvtabs,
kadmin out the wazoo, etc etc. I even know what principals to create for
it, because unlike v5 [yet], this one comes with at least a good attempt
at documentation.
Rlogin, on the other hand, hands back "protocol failure", even though I
get a ticket for rcmd.serverhost just fine. Rlogin -x hands back
"generic error (kfailure)". Since these two methods are the only ways
to interactively log in using CNS, it would be helpful if they worked.
Krb.conf and krb.realms have been updated for any and all possibilities
in this environment, which admittedly may be weird -- this machine goes
by a variety of names, but I put them all in. I get the same things
whether or not I have a ~/.klogin.
What is the tiny, stupid, magic "jesus christ" piece that I might be
missing??! I'll bet it will fix all my v5 fuckage, too.
