help installing kerberos IV

I recently downloaded ksrc.tar.Z from athena-dist.mit.edu to a sparc-10
workstation and am attempting to compile and link it. I looked at the
README file which contained some rudamentary documentation on installing
the package. No matter what I do, the install procedure errors off in the
middle of the "make world" step.
I'm willing to start tearing into the source code and install scripts if
necessary, but I can't help wondering if I'm making a more fundamental mistake
somewhere. Judging from the postings, it doesn't sound as though others are
having any difficulty installing KERBEROS 4. Any help or advice would
be greatly appreciated. I have SOLARIS 2.3 installed on the SUN.
