Now isn't this a case of "the pot calling the kettle black"! The
beginning part of this year we were very interested in exploring a DCE
solution on our SGI equipment on my current project. We were so
interested in fact that it was a major topic of discussion on two
separate trips to SGI headquarters. During both of these trips, the
folks at SGI did everything they could to discourage our interest in
this product.
I certainly cannot speak for the user community as a whole, but from my
perspective it certainly appears that the "current confusion in the
marketplace" was generated from within SGI not the user community.
I would very much like to hear from other folks in the "user community"
to discover if mine is a singular or shared perspective. Since this
topic is only somewhat related to Kerberos, please send me e-mail and I
will post one summary posting.
