[1680] in Kerberos

I'm trying to set up Kerberos on a Reno-BSD 4.3 system. Everything *looks*
like it should be fairly happy as far as the configuration goes, but it's
obviously not quite right. The clients (like rlogin, rcmd, etc) try and fail
with the following error message:
unable to use TGT: (Can't decode authenticator)
It's annoying because kinit works.
I'm expiring this group too fast so I may have missed some useful information
that's been posted in the past. If it's necessary, I can certainly be far more
verbose and descriptive. (:
