Howdy, this is a test of a revised comments page for IS.
Please go to http://web.mit.edu/is/lib/footertest.html and try the two options on the footer (ask a question/send a comment).
For the Ask a Question, I simply formatted it more neatly.
(I was trying out a combined "Ask/Comment" page, but that's not reflected in the pages you can get to.)
For the comment, try changing the subject field.
(I can make the change in the Message field happen without the confirm box if you think it's too obnoxious.) Note also what happens if you omit the From or Message fields.
I also added a fourth subject option (General message to
Home Page team...)
Notice also that the resulting message (i.e., what you're reading now) includes the URL I came from to get to the comments page. That "source-URL" field below was generated by the script, not typed by me in the message box...
I believe it fails fairly gracefully on non-JavaScript browsers, but we should test that out.
We can talk about this too on Friday...
