Hi Everyone:
I just met with Dennis Baron regarding the email that I sent to him a few
weeks ago. The following reflects some results of our discussion. Since I
won't be at tomorrow's meeting, and next week I have an ABST seminar on
Thursday and Friday could we possibly meet sometime next Monday, Tuesday,
or Wednesday to discuss the other things that Dennis is proposing? If time
is tight we could always table this until Friday 11/6 if it's easier for
all involved as there does not seem to be any urgency on this end to make
the changes.
Let me know what you think. Here are a couple of things he proposed:
Change the word "Telecommunications" to "Telephone, Voice Mail, and
Telecommunications" on the MIT Administration page (
http://web.mit.edu/administration.html ) Have the link now point to:
http://web.mit.edu/is/tel/tel_links.html
and remove the page : http://web.mit.edu/afs/athena.mit.edu/org/t/telecom/www/
as well as http://web.mit.edu/telecom/www/ (they appear to be the exact
same page)
Could you look at the tel_links site if you have time? He'd like the old
telecom home page replaced (probably temporarily) with the tel_links page I
just wrote and posted until some further administrative decisions can be
made regarding several existing sites that exist out there. I'll ask CWIS
about changing the word Telecom on their Administration page.
I also noted that this change should be made and I'd be happy to change it
but I want to run it by you guys first:
I/S Supported products: Telephones should link to :
http://web.mit.edu/is/tel/tel_products.html (right now it goes to the old
telecom home page that needs to be removed/replaced).
