Everyone (and I mean everyone who has been involved),
I thought you would be interested in this passage from the
Libraries' Visiting Committee report. All of you should take
pride in your accomplishments; your work is highly regarded
by many people, including the Visiting Committee.
Congratulations,
Greg

Subject: from the Libraries Visiting Committee Report April 3-4, 1995
Thought you might find the following interesting"
"The Committee was very pleased by the proactive role played
by the management and staff of the MIT Libraries in working
with Information Systems at MIT to design and develop
improved information delivery systems for the MIT community.
MIT is playing a leadership role in testing and evaluating
new systems for the delivery of scientific and technical
literature electronically, such as the Tulip Project
involving on-line access to the scientific publications of
the Reed-Elsevier Company, the CS-TR Project which makes
technical reports in comuter science and artificial
intelligence available on-line, the Willow Project which
uses a bibliographic interface to improve access to
information on-line, and the FirstSearch Project providing
enhanced on-line access to master bibliographic files.
"The Committee continues to be very encouraged and impressed
by the progress being made by the Distributed Library
Initiative at MIT."
