 "Public Libraries: Design for the Next Century"
 An afternoon symposium organized by the Associates of the Boston Public
Library, examining the public library's changing form and function.
Panel members include Arthur Curley, Pres of ALA and Dir of Boston
Public Library; James Matarazzo, Dean of Grad School of Lib and Info Sci
at Simmons; Jay Lucker, Dir of Lib at MIT; Susan Flannery, Dir of
Cambridge Pub Lib; Geoffrey Freeman, Principal at Shepley Bulfinch
Richardson and Abbott; Robert Campbell, writer and architecture critic;
and otehr authorities on libraries and architecture.  Co-sponsored by
Mead Data Central and Grad Sch of Lib and Info Sci at Simmons.  $15
suggested donation for symposium only; $35 suggested for symposium and
reception.
 Symposium: Boston Public Library, Rabb Lecture Hall, 2:00-5:30pm
 Reception:                        Great Hall         5:30-7:00

I am told there are two topics - a new physical building, and the
