The next ELIBDEV meeting will discuss the Library Gopher. The meeting is
noon, Friday, November 5 in Room E40-382.
The Gopher and Archie Review Panel (GARP) was formed by MIT Libraries
to plan and guide the creation of the MIT Libraries public access gopher.
The ELIBDEV presentation will outline the panel's responsibilities, its
plan of action, progress so far, problems encountered, problems
foreseen, and some tentative recommendations. Although a live
demonstration will not be possible, there will be overheads and
handouts.

1. Project pre-history
Electronic Journals Task Force; Gopher in general; Library Staff Gopher
2. Setup, structure, collection maintenance issues
3. Implementation; relationship to the IS gopher
4. Future directions
Gopher+ - ASK blocks for online forms, etc.
