The next meeting of the elibdev folks will be on April 30 from 11 - 12ish in
E40-302 (the Visitor's Center).
I plan to hypothesize that the best approach to information services at MIT
is to have one program which will present all information services to the
user. I hope to use XMOSAIC as an example of how such an interface might
appear.
In order to make the hourlong discussion fruitful, I propose this agenda:
1. A demonstration of xmosaic.
2. A discussion of whether this approach is fruitful, i.e. should
we have an xmosaic type client to all information resources.
3. Assuming we should, what should be the properties of such
a gateway to information?
4. If we should not offer an integrated approach to all information
platforms, should some other service be offered instead?
