AS you know, the library plans to replace the Geac 8000 for library
operations.
As part of the preliminary analysis for that project, several vendors have
been invited to give demonstrations of their system.
The VTLS system will be first. We would appreciate attendance by elibdev
folk, particularly for the Technical discussion at the end of the day, but
also for the overview in the beginning.
The message below is forwarded from Greg Anderson.

Today, I agreed on the agenda for the VTLS visit on Tuesday, Dec 29.
Vinod Chachra, President of VTLS, and Nancy Harris will be showing
us the VTLS system.
Clearly the holidays will make it difficult for everyone to attend,
Mr. Chachra's schedule was the determining factor in the choice of
dates. Please touch base with your group members as soon as possible
and encourage them to attend. It seems better to allocate more time
in the day for the large functions and to ask that the groups attend
those that best fit their interests: for example, Admin. Services
seems to fit best with Acquisitions, RVC and Archives with Cataloging,
etc.
When vendors respond to our RFP, we will have much more extensive
visits from vendors.
Here is the agenda for the day:
