e40-008-9 is hosed. It's closing telnet connections before login.
Unforunately athena.dialup still points to it. I seem to recall that
when this sort of thing happened last year it was a related to passwd
file corruption and required rebooting, but I wouldn't gurantee that
this is the same thing.
