I should add a couple more things...
- There seems to have also been a power flicker in E40 around 2:30pm
that caused most RT servers to reboot; Anne didn't hear about this
either, and the only reason I know this is I happened to login at
exactly the time this occurred and I have not been able to get any
answers about what happened.
- Several SIPB members said they tried leaving urgent VMAIL. If Anne
didn't get the page, there are only a couple possible reasons (the
Ops vmail box was pointing correctly to Anne):
1. VMAIL forwarding is being flakey (no messages were there)
2. The hotline number is incorrectly configured and not forwarding
urgent requests.
It is rather annoying that neither the power outage nor the bad drive
reports reached Systems Support, except via me.
As a sidenote, I am not sure I trust the stability of all the other
servers that survived the power outage; memory could be corrupted by
brown-outs. As I understand it, there was a drop in the lighting in E40
and most RTs rebooted.
