Most of Athena's users now know to use the name athena.dialup.mit.edu
when they dialup from home or telnet from a non-Athena machine.
However, there are still some who don't have current nameservice, and
can't deal with a host that changes its address every few minutes.
At one point, those people were able to find the addresses for
athena.dialup.mit.edu by doing "telnet dialup", which actually went to
a machine named relay.mit.edu. Two weeks ago, Relay stopped providing
this unsupported service. Since this seems to have inconvenienced
some people, we've undone the changes. So now, if you can't telnet to
athena.dialup.mit.edu because of inadequate nameservice, and you need
the addresses, the following command will work once again:
telnet relay.mit.edu
This will return 10 or 20 lines of text followed by a list of valid
addresses of dialup hosts.
