a key on this keyboard doesn't work

hi,
every time i press a particular key on this keyboard, the keyboard beeps.
actually, there are two keys with this problem, one is the tab key, and the
other is a letter.
it is the letter that would fit here: mnop rstuv
the name of the machine i'm on is uickstation-3.mit.edu
