Hello Mr Lam -

This is the second email we have gotten regarding the printer in Next
House, we have previously not heard of any issues with the printer down
there if we do not know there is a problem there is not a thing we can
do about it, I would suggest you not wait 2yrs to mention a problem.

Toner is the responisbility of all the dorms along with maint kits, athena/
hardware services does not supply either to any dorm. I hope this clears
up the misconception you may have had.

If your dorm printer is an athena 4si then it should print duplex, if it
is experiencing jam's i will send someone from our dept down there to fix
the problem, our turnaround time is usually 1 day.

Hi,

Our dorm printer has not worked well for the past 2 years. It constantly
jams, runs out of toner, and does not print duplex like the LaserJet 5i's
do. We have an Athena cluster in our dorm, but no printer for it. Moreover,
funds for upkeep of the printer come out of our house tax, whereas other
dorms have their printers upkept by MIT itself. Clearly, this is quite
unfair. How can we go about getting our printer and situation fixed?

Thanks,
Derek Lam
