We have a new Sun Enterprise 420R server temporarily residing in
Room 9-550a (the CRL server room) on which we'd like to install
the current Athena release. While hardly a standard Athena
machine (it has four 450-MHz CPUs and 4 GB of RAM), it does use a
sun4u architecture (the same as the Sun Ultras), which should be
compatible with the Athena software. I attempted to install the
software over the network along the lines of the instructions in
the bootkit locker, but while the machine does successfully boot
into the 'cnboot' installer, it is unable to find the kernel
image (it's looking for 'kernel/unix') and stops dead there.
This machine does NOT have a floppy drive, although it does have
a bootable CD-ROM drive, so booting from a floppy is not an
option (unless we borrow one from another machine and install it
temporarily). Please let me know if you can help us out, as we'd
like to at least make sure that this machine works right!

Thanks,
Tom Grayson
