w20-575-32 (vs/2000) won't boot. The last thing the rc script prints
is:
Clearing out /mit...Editing /etc/motd: WARNING: Some processes hung;
ps axl advised

The shell started has *no* path. Every time I tried to run something
the machine hung, possibly because of the lack of path (running
/bin/ls worked).
