The 8.3.28 Linux/Athena patch release is going out, but due to a bug
in the previous release it will not auto-update. No problem, as with
the previous patch releases and the pilot status, I'm taking care of
updating the W20-575 machines by hand.
But this time, the failure to auto-update will hang the workstation.
You might get mail about this; you can just tell people that it was
due to an update bug that has been fixed for the future, and that the
workstation will be OK soon. Feel free to forward any such mail to
me.
I expect the total time during which this is relevant is the next six
hours or so.
