m37-312-36 has a configuration problem

this came into olc today. the problem was specific to this machine.
may be a corrupt sendmail.cf or some other mail config problem. machine
may need to be reinstalled.

In exmh, when I try to send a message it gives me the error:
Address or Header Error-1
/etc/sendmail.cf: line 34: readcf: option u: unknown group
daemon: No such file or directory
send: message not delivered to anyone
How can I adjust the configuration so that it sends again?
