In the wake of last month's crash of the fileserver
epimetheus.mit.edu, there needs to be yet more preventative
maintenance done on the server. It will go down this evening
(8/13/99) at 11:00 pm. The outage is scheduled to last up to two
hours, although if all goes well it could be concluded in as little as
one hour.
During the outage, all data on epimetheus will be unavailable. To
determine if a locker or homedirectory is stored on epimetheus, type
at the Athena prompt:
add consult
lookup lockername
(where "lockername" is the name of the locker or user in question.)
As always, status updates for the outage will go to the zephyr
"consult" instance.
We Apologize for the Inconvenience.
