Barry came over this afternoon and reinstalled the Athena software to
version 8.2.20. The screen resolution went back to normal. He left me with
instructions to manually update to 8.3, which I just did, and I've got lower
resolution again...
The only other thing I did was to set PUBLIC to false and change root passwd.
