Subject: zip drive ejection problem

Hi. I would like to report a problem associated with the zip drive
of m12-182-2. the command
mzip -e z:
and pressing the ejection button didn't work. the zip drive didn't repond.
I had to resort to eject the disk manually.

I was at this location but was unable to do anything as the system was in
use.

by the testing i have done I have come to the conclusion
that the problem is not with the zipdrive but the cpu
not sure if it's the software or the hardware at this point
cluster is already packed with people waiting to login will
have to try software install tomorrow morning or if lou can
try tonight this will rule out software/hardware

well with the software reload the eject command worked once
then the system just kind of forgot about the zipdrive when
i would type eject the zip drive would make a small effort
to eject (mechanical click and yellow light flash on zip)
then nothing, also pushing the eject button on the drive
wouldn't do anything, so I did some testing on a couple of
the other sgi's with zip drives and found them to be doing the same thing.
when i'd run the compentency test the system would recognize the drive and
spit out the zipdisk

does bug's know about this problem?
did i just pick 3 bad machines?
or am i having a brain cramp?
