My junior lab partner noticed that the bottom tray of printer HOMER!
in the basement of building 66 is not in a good mood. To put it
bluntly, it sucks.
It will not open more than about an inch or two, and we were not sure
why. We were unable to determine the reason, and this is one of the
great mysteries of our undergraduate career that we have faced thus
far. This is definitely one of the most fascinating pieces of
equipment we've ever dealt with (with the exception of nearly all the
equipment in Junior Lab, building 4-3something). Perhaps this is
because we are both physics students and not mechanical engineers.
We had a colleague look at it, and he noticed that the "green thing"
that runs down the middle of the printer tray (currently in position
LTR rather than A4) has popped up and blocks the tray from being
opened. There is also not enough room to get something in there to
push the green thing down. Hopefully you will have better luck with
the green thing.
Have a nice holidays and see you in the year 2037!
