Hi guys,
I mentioned this to Joe yesterday and he suggested I send it in.
The hard disk on my workstation, wimsey, seems to be dying. Every few
minutes the machine freezes for a few seconds, and the message

appears on my console. I'm slated to get one of the new Ultras when they
come in, but may need to have the hd on the current sparc5 replaced if
it dies before the Ultra gets here.
So, this is just a heads-up really; if you happen to be in N42 with a
spare hd, you might consider taking a look at wimsey; otherwise, if
the Ultras arrive shortly, I hereby request to be towards the top
of the "transplant" list! :-)

P.S. There isn't anything on wimsey's hd, so no need for
backups/restores, etc.
