I found this machine in a rather corrupt software state,
so with some coaching from mhbraun (who remembered
how to do the SGI reinstall...this time I've actually saved
the commands somewhere) have it happily running a software
reinstall. I've left a sign on the machine to tell people
to leave it alone for a few hours...
