Matt,
I think you are on the right track. However, I can not find any way to set the
paper size for trays 2 or 3. I assume the printer automatically detects the
paper size with the little bars that help hold the paper. There is nothing on
the control panel to set a default input tray. The manual says that if equal
sized paper is in all trays, the order is tray 1, 2, 3, and 4 (if available).
For some reason, Athena is going for tray 3. Probably some control being sent
by the print server. I don't know who the expert on print servers is. Do you?
Another problem is that when it prints duplex, it prints the first page of the
output on the back of the header page. That is a strange default. I could
not find an option to change this. Do you know of one?
