Hello,
One of the networked printers in the library (not a public printer) is
not responding to print commands from athena. This has worked fine
for a year or so & just stopped responding. The printer is directly
attached to a windows 3.1 machine and prints jobs from it OK. Also,
the printer responds when it is PINGed (IP address is 18.51.0.119 -
name is hum01) but entering lpq at the athena prompt returns the
message lpq: hum01: unknown printer.
OK, I think there were a couple of problems here. First the printer's
queue is named first p-hum01 not hum01. Second, the queue appears to
have been stuck. I kicked it, and it is now printing all of the
queued jobs.
