Naomi and others,
I spoke to Dave from Crimson Tech about the scheduling of the projector
installation and other items in the Building 2 project. Here are his
responses, with questions for a variety of people at MIT.
2-132, 2-131, 2-135 systems will be 90% completed by mid day 8/27. The
equipment racks are tied together with the front wall or workstation table
wiring. The projectors can be converged in these rooms pending the
installation of some window darkening by Friday, 8/29. When will shades
and blinds be installed?
IS could do network cabling in 132, 132 and 135 on 8/27. Brian Murphy
should ask for Dave from Crimson sometime today or tomorrow to work out
details.
Also, there are no holes in the workstation tables or monitor cages for
cabling. Who will do this work? Dave also wanted to know where the
workstation will live in the cabinet. It looked to us that only the VCR
will live in the lockable door of the cabinet.
I couldn't remember is it will be on the tabletop or somewhere else.
Dave wanted to know when Floyd will have the room cleaned. He's confident
the AV equipment will tolerate the dust but not the workstations.
He has not found any CATV cabling in any rooms. Who's pulling this through
to the equipment racks and the workstation tables?
Dave is working on Saturday of the long weekend but will be gone Sun. and
Mon. He's also having 2 staff come in at 3pm through this week to work.
We should try to have all the support work done for him to complete his
portion of the project. Probably the best thing is to have someone from
Floyd and MIT IS speak to Dave before Wednesday about what he needs to
finish his work. He's confident all rooms can be completed by 9/3 but only
if the above concerns are addressed.
