The problem with the bug-emacs discuss meeting on menelaus has been
fixed. It seems that either the control or transactions file had
somehow gotten corrupted, and this prevented any new transactions from
being entered into that meeting. When I tried to expunge the meeting,
the corruption caused expunge to abort sans error messages (which surely
is a bug) without swapping in the new discuss files. After checking to
make sure that the new copy of the meeting which expunge was creating
was correct, I completed the expunge procedure by hand. The aliases
file on menelaus has been restored, and I was able to send a test
message to the bug-gnu-emacs meeting.

Since /usr/spool/discuss on menelaus apparently has the space (it
currently has 37 meg free), I would like to request that
/usr/spool/discuss/bug-emacs-broken (which is about 13 meg) be kept
around for a while, so that when I have a chance, I can take a look at
the file and see why the discuss programs didn't deal with corrupted
file(s) more gracefully. I've deleted /usr/spool/discuss/bug-emacs-old,
which was a copy of /usr/spool/discuss/bug-emacs-broken --- no sense
having two copies of the cruft lying around.
