Hello!

My name is Irene Kotok (ikot@mit.edu) and I am writing to ask you to
recover a file that was apparently damaged and neither I nor my lab
partner, Nora Chen (enchen@mit.edu), were able to open it. The file
is an xess file and was stored in my partner's Public directory
(enchen@mit.edu). The name of the file is MOD2.xs3 and was last saved
at around 7:19 a.m on Monday morning (11/18). However, when me and my
partner tried to open it up today November 21 at around 7:30 pm an
error message kept appearing, saying that the file wasn't a proper
xess format. We opened up the file in emacs to see the contents and
found out that the file was badly damaged. We also contacted OLC and
OLC consultant said that it seemed that an afs error occured and the
file got damaged at some point. This file is very very very
important, it is for Integrated Chemical Engineering class project and
contains vital information. We saved the file very frequently and we
have definitely saved it several times prior to 7:19 am on Monday
morning. There should be a good copy of this file saved around 6:30
am on Monday morning(11/18). I again would like to ask you to recover
file /mit/enchen/Public/ MOD2.xs3 in some useable form. It will be
greatly, I would like to emphasize greatly, appreciated by me and my
partner. I would like to thank you very much in advance for your time
and effort.

Irene Kotok and Nora Chen
