We have discovered problems with /boot in the new release, and the
problems are in the area of code that I had to hack up before to work
with the new-style RT keyboards.
Without a new-style keyboard at my disposal, I am unable to test whether
the changes I am making will have adverse effects. If you recall, last
time, whenever you pressed the SHIFT key on the new-style keyboard, it
hung (this means you cannot type in the kernel name to get to
single-user mode as you need to use the shift key to type the
parentheses).
I leave this up to you to decide how much priority it is to supply me
with one extra keyboard for testing...
This is needed only temporarily (or at least until the next time we have
to modify /boot on the RT).
