OK, tardis should be fairly happy now. The 857 Mb rootvg disk
was replaced with a 1.2 Gb (they don't sell 857's any more) disk. The
data was eventually migrated to the new disk. In the process of
getting the system to recognize the new rootvg, I had to recreate the
customized ODM from scratch. There may be some customized attributes
that I lost.

Also, a note to anyone who's replacing AIX disks. The AIX
migratepv command doesn't always do what you want when it encounters
unrecoverable errors: it leaves part of the logical volume, containing
the unrecoverable error on the disk you're migrating from. This
wasn't what I wanted with hd2, so I ended up having to create an lv on
the target disk and tar over the data. There were several files
that lost, so I synctree'd off /afs/dev/system/@sys/aix325/usr.

It is now recognizing all drives, and all appears to be well.
I had to change the root password again as I couldn't remember the one
Bill and I decided on; I will distribute it to appropriate people
out-of-band.
