The b&w monitors on the rs6ks seem to be doing really badly.
As a general rule, white-on-black is completely unreadable; black
on white is a little fuzzy, and gets worse (so as to be nearly
unreadable) if too much stuff is on the screen, where "too much
stuff" appears to be two xterms, two zephyrs, and an emacs window.
It's bad enough that a fairly large number of people are avoiding
the machines altogether because the screens are painful to read.
