Themis' ill ra82 has not yet been cured. Apparently the diagnostics
didn't find anything wrong, but when I've accessed the disk I've
encountered problems.
Here's what happens when I read, block-by-block, an entire (healthy)
ra82:
themis# dd if=/dev/rra0c of=/dev/null bs=128k
read: Invalid argument
4752+0 records in
4752+0 records out
The dd tried to read beyond the end of the disk, which is normal. It
(the dd) read 594 megabytes of stuff off the disk.
Here's what happens on the unhealthy disk, repeating 3 times the same
command as above:
themis# dd if=/dev/rra1c of=/dev/null bs=128k
read: I/O error
1552+0 records in
1552+0 records out
themis# dd if=/dev/rra1c of=/dev/null bs=128k
read: I/O error
4285+0 records in
4285+0 records out
themis# dd if=/dev/rra1c of=/dev/null bs=128k
read: I/O error
4285+0 records in
4285+0 records out
Which generates hard errors on the disk:
