1) The room can be re-opened (ie: the electronic lock set back to the
public cluster combination) after 5pm today. I've got a bit of
software work to do on the server over the next half-hour to an
hour, but opening the room after 5pm will be safe.
2) Three machines have mice that need cleaning very badly, they are
almost unusable at the moment:
m2-032-10 (IIci)
m2-032-13 (IIci)
m2-032-16 (SE/30)
3) The SE/30 that has hard drive problems (m2-032-14) still hasn't
gone to PC service. It looks like it now is having monitor
problems as well.
4) There had been a problem when people tried to use Mathematica on
the SE/30 connected to printer (Mma wouldn't run at all). The problem
is now fixed.
5) Is there any update on that busted IIci monitor that went to PC Service?
If it is back, let me know; I'm going to try and get the currently
out-of-service machine fixed up over the next few days.
6) The problems we've been experiencing with the 2-032 server haven't gone
away in spite of a pile of software adjustments and partial hardware
replacements. I'm going to be working on configuring a replacement server
today and Monday. When I'm ready to swap servers there will be some
downtime experienced in the cluster. I'll send out a warning notice when
I'm ready for that to take place.
Otherwise the machines in the room are in good shape.
Have a good weekend. :-)
