Cole - ISC) To: "hotline@athena.mit.edu"@AQUA.whoi.edu Cc: OPER_BRC1@red.whoi.edu Subject: Status of quohog workstation and scallop hp laser We are still unable to boot the quohog workstation successfully. It still seems to hang at the "setting time" prompt. One of my network people checked out the thin ethernet line and says that it looks okay. Also, it looks like the print queue to the scallop laser (new HP) is backed up with nothing coming out at this end. The quohog workstation has always been very reliable until the HPLaserjet was added to the "cluster at WHOI replacing the old DEC LN03.. Could the setting up of the HPLaserjet somehow have messed up the quohog configuration or is in someway interferring with quohog's ability to boot successfully? What is also strange, is that the other workstation on the same thin ethernet wire has been working like a champ during all the probelms we have been having with quohog. Can anyone tell me the status of resolving these two problems? Some of the students down here at WHOI are getting a little antsy about the situation as is exists now. /* ---------- */ I forwarded to op and also left Kim v-mail. --john c 9-28
