computer problem at Next house

Hello guys-
The term's under way and the surge in computer usage here has already
yielded a problem: picard's mouse is not working. The cursor remains at a
fixed position on the screen, oblivious to mouse motion. Also, this problem
seems to be intermittent; at 5 PM a user complained that the mouse pointer
wouldn't move, then at 9 PM I checked it out and it worked fine, and now at
midnight it doesn't work again.
Could you check this out? Thanks in advance.
