WHOI athena laser printer not functioning

My night operator reported problems with the WHOI athena laser LN03 (scallop)
a couple of weeks ago. I do not know all of the particulars but it is
still not working and the students using the local work stations here at WHOI
are desperate to have it working again. I know this LN03 is going to be
replaced sometime soon but is there anything that can be done to get the
current one working until then. Is there any ETA on the new laser?
I would appreciate anything you can do in this matter to get the students
happy and contented once again. What follows is the mail my operator
sent to me at the time of the problem. It may or may not be of any help
that will be for you to decide.

<I wanted to pass along that I called and left a detailed message on both friday
<Aug 27 and monday Aug 30 at extention 88-3-1410 MIT. The message included
<Tautogs address 128.128.16.220 and that the LNO3 hooked up to it had not been
<working for a week.
