Type: Normal
Date: June 10, 2013
Day: Monday
Time: 8:00am - 10;00am
Building(s): W91
Room(s): ALL
System: Fire alarm
Duration: 8:00am - 10:00am
Reason:
We request a bldg W91 fire alarm shutdown from 8 AM to 10 AM on June 10th, 2013 in order to test the data center EPO / fire alarm system interface as it relates to the data center CRAC units while the EPO itself is disarmed. All 14 crac units will be remotely shutdown 6 times as we test all of the 6 above/below floor smoke detector scenarios (rm 130 two above, two below, one each above below and then the same for room 189) as part of the W91 AT&T Data Center upgrade project by Elaine Construction (Nick Murray 617-799-7913). Important note - pre-action sprinkler valves will be closed and simulated conditions will be monitored via the pre-action valve solenoid. The overall test will be witnessed as a 3rd party inspection test by J. & M. Brown Co. (Wayne Maginnis 617-212-2509). Paul Murphy 4-6163 is the MIT project manager.
The June 10th date was chosen by W91's DOST, Rich Ledoux, for being 'after Commencement'.
Effect:
Loss of fire alarms for the duration of this shutdown.
