Hi,
Well now I really feel like a fool. While poking at the video
stuff, this machine (M11-113-5) has gone completely haywire.
I read the README in /mit/video, ran the activate script, and
then tried to run gctl. It came up, but the Proton switcher was off.
I turned it on, and then happened to hit the Load button on gctl. The
screen shortly went nuts. I have turned off the monitor, but have no
idea what's happening to the video boards during all this...
I recognized one of the Student Consultants (in training -
Douglas?) walking by and grabbed him. The machine was reset using the
restart button, and seems to be fine. I assume all this is a result of
not following the documented procedures...
Thanks, and I'd appreciate any insight, including RTFM...
