Now this could be me, but I've checked the other players
and they work as I'd expect, so I'm sending this in as a minor
hardware problem. The VDP50 Video Disc Player attached to the
machine M11-113-5.MIT.EDU does not seem to want to close.
I thought it best not to go sticking pens in or what have
you. It looks like the latch that holds the door down is just
stuck in the retracted position. A very quick bit of experimentation
shows that if you power-off the unit, the latch moves to the closed
position, and the door will stay shut.
You probably know about this. I went through olh and olc-
answers in hopes of finding a solution without bothering anyone,
but didn't see anything there.
