Last night the DEC 3100 just blanked out on me as I was trying to send e-mail;
the error message said something about afs losing contact with a cell and the
screen went blank. The next thing that showed up was the normal login menu.
I tried logging in again and the same thing happened only faster, the screen
just blanked out. I rebooted the machine following the instructions from
OLH, but the problem still persists. As far as I can tell, I'm still logged
on the machine as least that's what "fingering" tells me.
The machine is m66-080-7.mit.edu and its a DEC 3100.
